Alan Jamel Blackmon also known as Jamel a diverse singer/rapper was born on May 18, 1994 in Charlotte, NC. full of talent.
Jamel enjoys writing music for himself and others. Mostly, he sings R&B music. Jamel believes in expressing life through his craft.
Jamel has been singing and rapping for 11 years. He first started singing at the age of 4, while imitating soulful R&B songs that his father would play on the radio and found his love for singing in church at a young age.
He was also introduced to hip hop by friends in his local neighborhood at a young age.
By the age of 6, Jamel did his first solo performance at Plaza United Methodist Church in East Charlotte.
Inspired by the congregation, he became a perfectionist, maintaining a competitive spirit.
In the 5th grade, Jamel decided to focus his life and education on music, so he joined the Paw Creek Elementary School ensemble, where he was introduced to choral performance compositions. He also attended Northwest School of the Arts from 6th grade to 9th grade, where he majored in music theory and learning how to read music.

Jamel has performed at clubs, parties, and events, and is still currently doing so. He is currently a 17 year old senior at Hopewell High school. He has been recording music for the past 3 years, learning how to engineer in a studio engineering and editing his music, and have been doing so for the past 2 years. Jamel records in his studio on a daily basis, manifesting his life experiences throughout his music.
Jamel is in the process of creating the “JamelMusic” brand, with the help of Not Only Street Records along with his friends and family. He see's music as being the world’s only universal language, one that he speaks fluently. |
Additionally, Jamel received professional vocal training while attending North West. His 10th grade year, he transferred to Hopewell High School, where he joined Distinguished Gentleman’s Group (DGG), a group focused on promoting the talents of young men.
Introduced to dB Heard by All Bread Ent CEO Mayja Lee who are soldiers of the same struggle.
They are both entrepreneurs from Charlotte, NC. he became familiar with Mayja Lee because he lived in the same neighborhood as my big brother while in Charlotte. Jamel has has great respect for Mayja, as well as the All Bread Entertainment Empire and he was honored to be a part of such an amazing company! "
